Terms of service
These are the terms you agree to when you take paid work through HumanRelay. They are written to be read, so they are short and plain. Your data is covered separately in our privacy notice.
Who we are
HumanRelay.ai connects people who need something checked in the physical world with workers who can go and check it. The founding team is based in the UK and a UK company is being registered. Once it is, these terms will name it.
You are not our employee
You choose which tasks to take and when. You are an independent worker, not an employee, and nothing here creates an employment relationship. You are responsible for your own tax on what you earn.
How a task works
We offer you a task with a stated reward. You accept or ignore it. If you accept, you do the work and submit the evidence the task asks for, usually a photo or a screenshot. We check the evidence. If it passes, we pay you.
What you promise
- The evidence is yours and real. You took it, for this task, at the time and place it says.
- You do not fabricate, reuse, edit or stage evidence, and you do not submit someone else's.
- You do not send us other people's personal information, faces or documents unless the task asks for it.
- You obey the law and stay safe. No task is worth trespassing or a risk to you.
- Where a task involves your own data from another app, you are entitled to share it.
What we promise
- The reward is stated before you accept, and we do not change it afterwards.
- If your evidence passes, we pay promptly, into the account you gave us.
- We tell you why evidence was rejected.
- We do not pass your name, number or documents to the client who commissioned the work.
- You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP.
How evidence is judged, and how to dispute it
Evidence is checked automatically: where and when it was taken, whether the file was altered, and whether it shows what was asked. That check decides whether you are paid, so you can challenge it. Email us and a person will review the decision. If we got it wrong, we pay.
When we will not pay
We do not pay for evidence that is fabricated, reused, taken somewhere other than the task's location, or that does not show what the task asked for. Repeatedly submitting fabricated evidence ends your access, and we may withhold pay for the work in question. We will always tell you why.
Trust tiers
Some tasks are only offered to workers who have verified themselves further, for example by confirming their identity. Verifying is your choice. It opens up more work, and declining it costs you nothing you already had.
Ending it
You can stop using HumanRelay whenever you like, and ask us to delete your data. We can end your access if you break these terms. Work you have already completed and had approved still gets paid.
Limits
The service is provided as it is. We are not liable for indirect losses, and our liability to you for any task is limited to the reward for that task. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Law and disputes
Talk to us first: most things are settled by email. For workers in South Africa, South African law applies and the South African courts have jurisdiction. Your rights as a consumer are not affected.
Changes
If we change these terms we update the date at the top. Changes are not retroactive: the terms that apply to a task are the ones in force when you accepted it.
